better late than never, here are my NBA playoff predictions now that we are a few games in and i can cheat. both #1 LA and #1 Cleveland win 4-0 (over Utah and Detroit). both #2-#7 series go 7 games. Boston wins a crazy Game 7 over Chicago (only to fade in the next round due to injuries and everything else they are currently facing). the New Orleans Hornets got blown out by Denver in their opening game but i feel that Chris Paul is good enough to beat the suspect and sometimes sloppy Nuggets. Denver wins Game 7 at home. in the #3-#6 series i'll take Orlando and Dallas (sorry Spurs but like the Celtics you are not at full strength and a step too slow). i'll take Houston and their experience over Portland (especially going on that Game 1) and i was all set to take Wade and the Heat over Atlanta but the Hawks looked like world-beaters in that Game 1 blow-out. Atlanta is more talented in every category except "Dwayne Wade". i'll go Heat just because that was my guess before Game 1. and Portland could still surprise (with all of that deep crazy youthful talent) but Houston is just so physically tough.
final note: am i the only one that thinks
Phil Jackson looks weird these days?
i like the "
zen sage" look better. he looks neutered now or something. i like the facial hair. it makes me feel like he's scheming and planning and, well, coaching. with his new neutered look and constant clean-shaven smile, i'm lead to believe he's barely interested. that would be the case if one was to review last year's Finals or to see how easily the Lake Show is coasting past the NBA these days (Utah Jazz included).
